Powerpoint is a very powerful presentation tool. You can easily create presentations with graphics, charts, animated text, sound and video clips to effectively convey your message.
Open Microsoft Powerpoint Powerpoint from the Microsoft Office icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
From the New Presentation menu choose Template (you may want to choose a blank presentation in the future).
Open a template from the On Screen & 35 mm Slides folder. Choose a layout for your presentation.
Next you will need to choose a layout for your slide. Pick one from the New Slide window.
Views
View options are located on the lower left-hand side of the screen. Descriptions of the views are as follows:
Slide View: This view will let you see and edit what the slide will look like during a presentation.
Outline View: This view will show you the text and transitions for each slide.
Slide Sorter: This view will show you a mini version of the slide and will allow you to arrange the order of the slides in the presentation.
Notes: This view will let you add speaker's notes to a slide.
Slide Show: This will let you see the finished slide show.
Transitions and Running a Slide Show
Transitions are most easily created in the Slide Sorter View. Simply highlight the slide you want to change the transition for and click the transition button. You will then have several choices as to how the transition will occur.
To run a slide show go to the View menu and select Slide Show.
Enter the parameters you want and click OK.
