The Dangerous Motorcycle

by Lilia Furman, Amal Comprehensive High School, Safed

A lot of parents are afraid to allow their children to ride on a motorcycle. It is considered to be very dangerous. But we know that a lot of kids have a motorcycle anyway. And we also know that there are a lot of accidents.

But this doesn't stop anyone from riding a bike! Perhaps a lot of kids think that they are being heroes by biking, and do not realize how very dangerous it can be.

When parents refuse to give their children permission to ride a bike they are not alalowed to have lessons. It is known that kids have threatened to run away from home unless their parents agree. Often the kids win and their parents sign a document, allowing them to take lessons and ride a motorcycle.

But the fear remains. We need to understand this and not be angry. After all, parents are concerned with their children's safety. Should an accident happen, parents wouldn't be able to forgive themselves for having allowed their child to ride on a motorcycle.
