We conducted a survey on cigarette smoking among a sampling of 10th graders and found out some interesting facts.
Only 30% of the boys are against smoking. The other 70% think that smoking is "cool" and "popular" among teenagers. "When I am smoking with my friends, I feel cool because I feel that I am one of the guys," one Amal student confessed.
On the other hand, there seems to be more awareness among the girls. 60% of the girls are against smoking. "I think that it is very repulsive when a teenager smokes. I don't think that teenagers should smoke at all," confided one girl.
Many of the teachers smoke. Although when asked, they seem to hold the opinion that teenagers should not smoke. Everyone seems to agree that people can become addicted to smoking and that it can destroy your health.
So if it is so bad for you, why smoke?
