Metallica's in My Blood

Heavy Rock music is a noisemaker. If you like it, you become devoted. Metallica songs have messages unlike any other band. They sing about life, death and heaven. Metallica is one of the best heavy rock bands in the world. Not long ago they were crowned as the best rock band in our times, like the Beatles and the Doors before them.
The group members are James Hetfield (8.3.63), vocals; Lars Ulrich (26.12.62) on drums, Kirk Hammet (18.11.62), lead guitar, and Jason Newsted (4.3.63) on the bass.
"Kill 'Em All" was made within 3 weeks. After this album, Metallica made another one, which was called "Ride the Lightening." It sold half a million copies. Metallica then became the most popular heavy rock band. Every heavy rock fan knew about and listened to it. Then, in the height of their success, a disaster happened. In September 1986, after a show in Sweden, the group's bus crashed. Cliff Burton was thrown out of the bus and killed immediately. The band wanted to break up, but they continued. They made the album, "And Justice for All," which sold more than 8 million copies.
In 1996, after five years of silence, they made "Load" and in 1997, they published "Re-load." In their last album you can hear fast, nervous, aggressive rock. They have a duet with the famous singer Marianne Faithful. If you know how to appreciate good heavy rock, "Re-load" is a must buy.
People feel strongly about heavy metal music. I asked Avner, a ninth grader, what he thinks about Metallica and he said, "I have all of their discs and I like to listen to all their songs." On the other hand, tenth grader Inbal said "Their music is just noise!"
Ask Beavis and Butthead. They have admired them for years.
