What type of music do the pupils in our school like? We went "out to the field" to find out. We conducted a survey whose results show that the type of music most pupils like is Rock Music (31%). After Rock comes heavy Metal and Dance (22% and 23% respectively).
To the question whether they are playing any musical instruments, 14% answered positively, most of whom play either the piano or organ.
The students in our school aren't very interested in singing. The survey shows that only 2% are singing in a choir and only 4% are playing in a band.
Israeli music is not very popular among the students in our school. Only 16% would rather listen to Israeli music than to foreign music.
Prior to our survey we had assumed that the type of music we listened to is affected by our home environment, but from the results of the survey we found that we had been wrong.
We also found that 81% of the students had changed their taste in music since the beginning of their teen years.
Following the survey we interviewed Roei and Elad, our classmates who are playing in a band. They claim that foreign music is better and more popular than Israeli music.
