Introduction
"Beitar Yerushalayim" was founded in 1944 in a concentration camp in Kenya. In that period, fans of Beitar already existed - long before today's players were born. Until 1981, Beitar Yerushalayim was considered as one of the best teams in the top level national league. In the same year, Beitar Yerushalayim dropped down into the lower national league, and within a year it was back up in the top national league.
In 1991-1990, Beitar Yerushalayim stayed in the top league, and in 1991 it dropped down a league and in 1992 it went back up to the top league. Beitar Yerushalayim won the 1986-1987, 1992-1993, and 1996-1997 championships.
Questions to the Fans
I asked a fan of Beitar, Yaakov Cohen, which soccer team he considers to be the best, and this is what he answered me: "BEITAR YERUSHALAYIM is the best team in the league, and I admire the player, Pishon, who proves to everybody that he is the best and cooperates with his teammates.
I also asked him, what is the meaning of the symbol of Beitar? He told me that it is the symbol of the capital of Israel which is "Jerusalem," and he is sure that Beitar will win this year's champianship.
Beitar Yerushalayim succeeds as a team with the cooperation of the players, coaches, owners and fans.
GOOD LUCK BEITAR YERUSHALAYIM!!!
